Argentina's Supreme Court authorizes new courtroom for major trials

The Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation has authorized the use of the recently remodeled AMIA courtroom at Comodoro Py 2002 for large-scale oral trials, as part of the judicial branch's building improvement works. The comprehensive renovation of the AMIA courtroom included repairs to technical floors and ceilings, installation of acoustic panels, new flooring, a lighting system, smoke detectors, safety signage, painting, and audiovisual equipment. Public restrooms and the access foyer were also renovated. The project required an investment of over 162 million pesos and is part of a general plan to adapt judicial spaces to the requirements of the new accusatory system. The technological installation was overseen by the Directorate of Technology, and the courtroom is now fully operational for trials requiring extensive capacity and modern equipment. This decision will help expedite judicial processes, including the 'Cuadernos' case, whose judges had previously cited poor building conditions.
